Rich Thompson Tucker

Rich Thompson-Tucker has loved the outdoors and nature since early childhood. With degrees in Natural Resources and Environmental Education, Rich understands the impact of over one billion cars and trucks on our environment and as a driver of climate change. As a result, he has driven a Toyota Prius since 2001, the Nissan Leaf all-electric vehicle, and most recently the Chevy Volt. This Earth Day come explore the future of transportation and see a variety of electric and hybrid vehicles at the Mountain Campus.

Casey Mara

Casey Mara is a senior at Burr and Burton Academy. She first became interested in the environment when she was a camper at the Green Mountain Conservation Camp, and later went on to be a Junior Counselor where she would help teach classes about the environment. She continued to pursue her interest in the environment by spending a semester at the Mountain Campus her sophomore year. Casey is super excited to be to be studying Environmental Studies at the University of Vermont next year!

Megan Frayne

Megan Frayne is a new faculty member to the Burr and Burton Science Department this year. Prior to entering teaching, Ms. Frayne obtained both her undergraduate degree (Boston University) and graduate degree (UCONN) in Neurosciences. After a number of years researching and developing treatments for neurological disorders at MIT and Harvard, Ms. Frayne entered into the education profession. As a teacher, Ms. Frayne increased her commitment and awareness to environmental sciences and climate change. In 2017,  Ms. Frayne won a national Fund for Teachers Award and was runner-up for two separate national PolarTrec awards to work in climate studies. Her Fund for Teachers award allowed Ms. Frayne to spend a month in Greenland working with climate scientists on one of the final frontiers.

Edward Cameron

Dr. Edward Cameron is a specialist in climate change, development and human rights. He designs climate strategies for companies, and works with governments across the globe to shape public policies that drive the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient and inclusive world. He works with philanthropies in the development of funds to support climate resilience and advises both non-profits and global organizations on how to professionalize their climate advocacy. Edward has more than two decades of experience having served with the European Union, The Government of the Maldives, The World Bank, The World Resources Institute and Business for Social Responsibility. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences, Business and Economics and has worked on five continents. Originally from Dublin in Ireland, he now lives in Manchester, Vermont with his wife and two sons.

Kathleen James represents the Bennington-4 district (Manchester, Arlington, Sandgate and part of Sunderland) in the Vermont House of Representative, where she serves on the Education Committee. She’s also an active member of the Climate Caucus. First elected in November 2018, she is a grassroots political activist, working with groups like MoveOn Manchester and Earth Matters on projects that promote voter awareness and engagement. She’s been a key advisor to local BBA students on the campaign for a statewide plastic-bag ban.
